Are you interested in local wildlife?

Would you like to help us identify the wildlife in our churchyard?

Your findings will be collated with others gathered during the week and then  added to the National Biodiversity Network, a national database of wildlife across the UK.

At All Saints’ Church we are trying to build up a picture of the range of wildlife that is already present in the churchyard to help us think about and plan how we can make the churchyard more biodiverse with a view to protecting, creating and enhancing nature in our community area.

How many different species can you spot?  You could look for your favourite type of wildlife: flowers, grasses, insects, birds, trees, fungi, lichens, reptiles or traces of animals.

There will be a plan of the churchyard and some pictures of common species in the porch of the church, along with some record forms and sticks to mark and label anything unusual you find. If you would like to help with this survey, come along to the churchyard at any time between 5-13 June.  Decide what kind/s of wildlife you would like to record and log your findings on the recording form. Please leave your completed form in the box in the church porch.  When we have collated all the information, we’ll share a summary with you and invite you to come and share your thoughts about how we can make the churchyard more wildlife friendly.
